Blaze leads the league in scoring defense but they will have their work cut out for them with a Fusion team that has scored an even 100 points in its first three games. Blaze's game against the Expendables was so top-secret that the final score still hasn't been revealed to the general public. Rumors are quickly spreading that the school groundscrews have been working diligently to fill in the gaping crater left on the field after the Blaze/Expendables game was over. Can they punch a crater into Fusion or will the defending A-Champs score a meteor shower worth of touchdowns in the Blaze end zone?
Vets -26 1/2 So Hood
It goes from bad to worse for So Hood as the Vets pull into town with the number 1 offense in the league and the top defense in A. The Vets strangled Brigade with their left hand while So Hood had an "L" fused into their loss column courtesy of Fusion. The numbers are screaming blowout but it's very likely that So Hood throws a huge scare into a Vets team that may have taken its foot off the gas pedal a little too soon.
Fish N Grits -17 And What?
Fish N Grits will have to wake up after a yawner of an affair versus Nightmare. They wake up to find an And What team that put up some serious points on the board in outlasting Sho Nuff 31-25 on their doorstep. And What? will need to find a way to shore up its defense against a middling FNG offense. FNG should be able to swim to the end zone a few times.
Sho Nuff -17 Brigade
Sho Nuff was surprised last week by a feisty And What team that beat them to the finish line 31-25. They hope to cure what ails them against a reeling Brigade team that showed some signs of life versus Vets. Sho Nuff has the horses to run the race but do they have a jockey who can bring it home? Should be another close one.
Enigma -2 TK Express
What is it with this Enigma team??? They truly live up to their name as they have this absurd point differential despite being under .500. They put together what was perhaps the finest performance in franchise history by bankrupting Bad Company 41-6. TK Express looks to be building a relevant franchise after squashing Montellies, shades of the Techs win last season, it seems. Right now Enigma doesn't seem to know their own strength and will really ruffle some feathers in B if they win this one.
Mean Machine +6 Bad Company
Will the defenses even bother taking the field for these two teams. Both teams are coming off straight-up massacres from last week that probably caused the fields they were playing on to glow in the dark after the games were over. Now they set their sights on each other in the B-division Basement Bowl. Bad Company's scrappy nature should get them a win but will it be a springboard to further grid-iron glory or will this be the supernova followed by eternal darkness for the remainder of their summer schedule?
Dark Knights -41 1/2 Expendables
Stop shaking your heads people! The schedule-maker gods demand a blood sacrifice and dang it, they're gonna get one! The Expendables, true to their name, will play the part of sacrificial lambs in this one. DK is fresh off a 31-6 beatdown of former relevant team Battalion. They're worst enemies will be themselves and if they can contain their eagerness they may well jeopardize scoring records in what looks to be the equivalent of Carl Lewis versus Leona Lewis in a sprint to the end zone. Remember to replace your divets, DK.
Montellies -4 Nightmare
Montellies was backslapped by the TK Express last week but is a veteran team that should be able to bounce back from a game like that. They look to haunt the dreams of a Nightmare team that hasn't been awake since week 1. Nightmare encountered its own Freddy Krueger in FNG last week, getting fish 'n' chipped 30-8. Montellies needs to capture its past for motivation as they will need it to withstand the long range aerial acrobatics from Nighmare. This should be a fun, close game.
Battalion +15 Desperadoes
Battalion is in freefall and can't seem to find the parachute cord. They haven't had their full roster for any game this season and the trend will probably continue. Desperadoes de-Meaned the Machine last week and will be yet another tough defense for Battalion to contend with. Battalion needs to find its mis-placed O if it intends to match scores with the Despoes. So far they've given no signs that they can do that no matter who's slingin' the rock.
