Nineteen was the magic number for both teams last week. FNG scored 19 points in throttling Brigade 19-13 for the win. They come home to the Shark Tank this week to face Sho Nuff who also put up 19 points last week. It was a nice total except that the Villians proved they could count a good deal higher than 19 as Sho Nuff got pasted 33-19. Sho Nuff is pretty much backed against the wall. Can they catch a bullet with their teeth for the win or will the Fish flex their dorsal fins in a remake of Jaws (3D)?
Brigade pays a visit to the Reactor coming off a close loss to the Fish. There they will face a pretty PO'd Fusion team that got punched out by the defensing champs 39-20 (sounds like a Super Bowl XXI score). Brigade is in pretty deep doo-doo as the season is half over and they need to get some wins in order to be playoff-relevant. Not sure Brigade has the firepower to hang.
The TBFFA Monday Night Football matchup between Mayhem and Villians will send out a clear and present signal as to who will put A-Division in a mid-season headlock. We're not sure that Mayhem has had any serious threats to its hegemony for a couple seasons now. However, the South(paw) shall rise again and put his golden arm to the test. Can the Villians dictate the new order of things to the champs or will Mayhem show the TBFFA television audience that it;s really just "same old, same old" with another A-Division hopeful pounded into the dirt?
Basement Blaze hopes to escape its uncomfortable new home at the bottom of the B standings with a victory over the Punishers who have only punished their fans so far this season with an offense that moves the ball about as effectively as some senior citizens move their bowels. Both of these teams need a dose of offensive Ex-Lax. The Book is not hopeful that it happens this week.
Mean Machine comes off of a well deserved off week to continue its surprising run versus Wolf Pack. Wolfpack pitched a shutout versus the UnPunishers and seems to have the defense needed to bring the Mean Machine to a grinding halt. This is definitely the B Game of the Week. Has Gio had enough time to upload his latest scouting reports to MM? Or will the Pack make it three in a row?
Night Mare is hot on the heels of MM by winning its last three. They take on a Despoes team that shot What! full of holes 25-6. Night Mare seemed to sleepwalk thru an uninspiring win versus Blaze last week as well. They're favored here but they need to recharge the number one offense in B.
Expendables shocked the world by outgunning the Slow Pokes, putting up 33 points in the process. Investigators into the incident have no answer. They look to continue their good fortune versus a Battalion team which found a way to post its first win, eking out a hard fought OT victory versus Techs.Battalion needs to keep focusing on teamwork. Expendables just needs to keep focusing...
What! Needs to be called When? as in, when will this team pull itself together and show some consistency? They've buckled and belched in fits and starts and get untracked before they ever get going. Things get no easier for them versus Techs who will be super motivated to get back on track after Battalion de-Tech-ed the disturbance in their Force. What!'s descent from the penthouse to the outhouse seems to continue.
We're sure that multiple camera angles, slow motion replays, and stool samples have revealed to the Slow Poke brain trust just exactly how they let the Lunchables take their lunch money last week. Has this revealed some fatal flaw in the carefully crafted computer-simulated choreography of their offense? The despoes will be the first to find out.
