TBFFA Sportsbook Week 5 Fall 2014

Southern Fye                     +7                               Imara

Southern Fried comes off the usual 3 touchdown defeat, this time to What 1. Reports were not clear if What was actually awake during the game. The Fye now match up against a well rested Imara team which has had a whole week to think about the meaning of life after getting annihilated consecutively by the two top teams in A. This game will feature the two worst defenses in the league. Which D will stink less? The game probably matters more to Fye since Imara has the very squishy Mean Machine to cushion them from last place.

Suped Up                        -11 ½                           What 2

Only Commissioner Zeus himself could possibly derail the Supermen from rampaging through the league last weekend. How will SU respond to an unwanted week off? Well find out as they take on What 2, the current denizens in first place in B. What 2 de-Techd Techs 42-20 to have 1st place all to themselves. This battle between the only unbeatens left in the league should be an interesting contrast in styles. What 2 seems to employ the equivalent of a half-court offense whereas Suped Up is the old LA Lakers. What 2 may have to fake a few injuries to slow down this juggernaut.

Vendetta                         -12 ½                          Revenge

It doesnt get any easier for Revenge as they try to recover from their first loss of the season as they face off against Vendetta, another team that found itself off last week. Revenge was unable to solve What 1 (join the club) 36-6. While Marcus won the Good Sportsmenship award last week the Book thinks hell blow a gasket if his high-payroll team fails its vendetta against, er, Vendetta. Can Super Mario and Mighty Joe serve Big V a cold dish of revenge or will Vendetta show them why theyre an A team?

Blaze                             +30 ½                           Suped Up

Blaze discovered that pigs cam indeed fly and that, yes, there are snowballs in Hades as they got decked by Stealth 26-21. Now that they have been amply reminded that they are mortals they now run the risk of being abused like Clark Kent as they travel to the Fortress to taste the Supe. Can Blaze take advantage of a Suped Up team that should barely be standing after 2 earlier games? Can Blazes QB keep from imploding in this one? They will need everything theyve got to pull this out. Maybe Blaze should pull out their throwback green jerseys. Suped Up may think its Kryptonite.

Suped  Up                   -16 ½                      Vendetta

Last weeks Rumble in the Jungle never happened since Suped Up didnt have enough advance ticket sales to keep the game from being blacked out. The TBFFA gets to see this game on Tivo at 8:30, if youre all awake.

Enigma                        -12 ½                        Expendables

Enigma rises like a phoenix from the ashes to re-enter the thick of the playoff race, this time dismantling Commission 38-25. Has Wolfe been sitting at the feet of Ben McAdoo, the NY Giants offensive coordinator? Suddenly theyre scoring in bushels. They now  pitch their newfound offensive farming techniques against Expendables. The Ex-men handled Mean Machine for their 2nd consecutive win 25-19. Can Expendables figure out Enigmas enigmatic offense or will they be Expend-un-able to?

Stealth                           -7 ½                        Mean Machine

Stealth rose up and punched their favorite tormentors, Blaze, in the mouth 26-21. They are next in line for a punchless Mean Machine team that faded versus Expendables 25-19. Mean Machine has not been able to find an offense to keep its sometimes viable defense in the game.  Stealth figured that the best way to beat Blaze was to imitate them, right down to the arguing. They will need to keep their heads against a Mean Machine team that could *snicker* be a threat *har har*.hey, any given Sunday. IT COULD HAPPEN!
