I dunno if ya wanna argue with a player who uses quilting as an avatar...something tells me it takes EXTREME confidence to do that.

...just my 1 3/4 cents.... :)

THIS SEASON IS GONNA BE SOOO MUCH FUN!

Easy Keyshawn, dont break your arm trying to pat yourself on the back.  Remember there is no "I" in team....but there's a "ME."

Remember, we look good on paper...
...but games aren;t played on paper....

....they;re played inside TV sets...

I;d rather fly under the radar. Nothing says "STOO-PID!" like "look at me, look at me...!" and then you get beat by a team like....oh I dunno....Mean Machine or something.... :P

...at that point you're not going to want ANYBODY to look at you after that.

Let;s beat some people first.

Maybe I am just old (well I am old) but I just have the opinion that your play speaks for yourself.  The long time players of the league are known (mostly) because of their play.  You are a great athlete Mario.  Dont get me wrong.  However, I would take someone with less ability that is willing to just show up and play vs a guy that is athletically gifted but wants the spotlight.  This is a team game and the game is bigger than any ONE person on ANY team.  The minute someone on a team thinks they are about the word team then the TEAM suffers.  Ive played against you and Ive watched you.  As you age, you will see what I am talking about.  At that point, you will become one of the most dangerous players in the league.

He's young and he's getting better. I like that he is showing a willingness to learn. So many players think they know it all and don;t really open themselves to learning what more experienced players have learned but Mario is showing he's open to it. He really WILL be scary in a few more years. He's already scary now.

Mario...the future of the TBFFA - frightened? :)

There are very few that come on here that really only remember the old days.

Glenn has it right. I remember my first season with the Villains, Glenn made it look easy then and makes it look easy now.

He slings em, I throw ducks.

He catches one handers, I drop em. Although I have made a few highlight reels in my day..

Point is, Mario this is a marathon not a sprint.

You should be enjoying the comradarie with your teammates because in 6, 7 or 8 years from now when we are looong gone, you can look back and say the same things we did..

Gio, you're about to make me show my age but way back in 1998 when I started in this league I had a guy named Shawn Zipperer on my team.  A lot of you will remember that name.  He was the fastest white kid you would ever see....even after three (yes three) ACL surgeries.  We had a standard first play....dump it to me and Zipp on a back side post.  We used to think we were unstoppable.  We were beating teams in B and thought it would be easy to just move up to A and compete.  Boy were we wrong.  We were getting beat by guess way less athletic than us.  As a young kid (21 years old) I didnt care about working the ball down the field, using the clock and setting up plays.  I wanted to go deep every play, all the time.  After playing in tournaments and seeing what it took to win, I took a step back and decided to alter my game.  I was able to learn from the older guys around me, learned to not talk so much "noise" and just let my TEAMS play speak for me.  I can remember playing a game where the guy I was playing against said he held me without a catch.  He was so happy for that.  But why?  We had just beat them by 40 points.  I dont care if I dont have a catch, throw a td, pull a flag or even hug Larry.  If we win, thats what matters.  My point in this is I cant do anything without my TEAM.  I dont care how good I am as an individual I am NOTHING without my TEAM.  The Players, DHEM, Legends, Immortals and whatever other team name we have played under all had one thing in common....we played as a team.  Whether we won or lost...it was a team effort.  Im certainly not picking on Mario by any means.  I dont want this to come out like that.  None of us are good enough to be getting paid for doing this or else we would be.  The young bucks of the league have to earn their respect.  The old timers have already earned it or they wouldnt still be around.

Oh and I have to agree with something Hollywood said......if you dont think you are better than the person youre going up against, whether you are or not, then youre not.  I would certainly throw to the side that T is on.  Its not that I think hes not a good athlete...I just have confidence in myself to make the throw.  If I dont have that confidence, I have no business playing.  boxing

I dunno Glenn....I 've hugged Larry more than you have and dang it, I'm proud of it....even if I did lose by 50. :P

But you are correct. Every great receiver has to remember something...you can;t throw it to yourself...

Every QB has to remember....your passes could be right on the money....if your WR doesn;t catch it it is STILL INCOMPLETE. On the other side of it, you QBs know y'all have thrown some crappy passes that your WR bailed you out by making a circus catch....

The best player doesn;t win; the best TEAM does!

I am certainly not very smart but from what I heard about today my point was kinda proven.  I wish I could have seen for myself.

It was worse than you could have imagined. As a team we have a lot of growing up to do and we need to do it in a hurry. I can easily say that that was the worst game in franchise history, and the worst game I've ever been a part of.

Spirit, I know if anyone can fix an issue it's you. You gotta have the offensive captain, the defensive captain and the overall team leader. You will get it done.

We set about clearing up some of those issues after the game. Now we have to abide by them. We can be an outstanding team if we show a little more love on the field for each other. I know I play more for my teammates than for me. I don;t wanna let them down. We need to trust each other more.

Mike you've got a lot of personalities on that team.

There were some good things and bad things team wise, however I will keep my opinions to myself.

I will say this, this is not the Battalion I know.

I agree...it was embarrassing...but we have to acknowledge our mistakes and be willing to adapt and mesh our talents together. We have high expectations. We need to flush this game and move on to the next one. I really feel that we can win this thing. We just have to point our guns at the other team and not each other.
