Both teams flexed some serious muscle in their previous games with Expendables lobotomizing the Autobots 27-6 and the Knights serving Revenge a cold dose of reality 25-12. Both teams seem evenly matched in this one, at least as far as the numbers go. It will be up to Randy and Glenn to lead a bunch of younguns against a veteran X team that seems to have a clue this season,
Autobots+13 ½ Blaze
Autobots were treated like a bunch of old Tonka trucks as Expendables buried them in their own backyard 27-6. They now take their last ranked defense against Blaze, who solved the Mean Machine 20-14. Autobots are up against the wall on this one and need a win to have some prayer at a playoff position. The trouble is that Blaze needs this one as well as they are just on the outside of the playoffs looking in through the restaurant window and seeing all the playoff goodies lined up. Yes, Blaze is hungry for this one.Expect some Blaze receiver to play Megatron versus the Autobots this week.
INIT2WINIT+27Fish N Grits
Last week was proof that there is a God. He sent a tropical storm to Tampa to thwart what would have been an historic nuclear detonation of unprecedented proportions. Yes, INIT2WINIT versus Mayhem, point spread of, what, infinity???
As a consolation prize they get to take on a Fish team that feels more like Great White Sharks after losing by the length of a minnows nose versus the Interrogatives (What?) 19-18. They need a win to legitimize their aspirations as a title contender and why not run up the score in the process? Now, INIT2WINIT could actually play good defense in this game simply by forfeiting, thereby holding the Grit-meisters to a mere 17 points. Whats a defensive coordinator to do?
WHAT+21So Hood
What will try to carry over their magic over to Undefeated-ville which is located deep in da Hood.So Hood has continued its mastery of the summer season by splitting apart Fusion 21-0. Yes, this was not a mis-print. So Hood is ever So Serious about winning the championship this season.
What downed the Fish by one point last week and are fixing to turn out the lights in the Hood. Does Pooh have any tricks in his utility belt for this one?
Fusion+10Desperadoes
What were the odds in Vegas that Fusion would be sitting under .500 after 3 games this season? And who would have taken a bet that Fusion would have been shut out this season??? Last week it was Fusions turn to make the donuts ringing up a resounding zeroagainst the Boyz in Da Hood. Desperadoes put up a spirited fight against Battalion before succumbing 33-24. Both teams sit at 1-2 and while both have the talent to make the playoffs one of these teams is going to have to wait an extra week in order to prove it. Can Gregs Noodle con-Fuse Fusion or will Stan and company re-Fuse to lose?
Mean Machine-11Battalion
Mean Machine went down in flames against Blaze last week but they have quite a point differential for a team sitting at 1-2. They meet up with a Battalion team that is trying to stitch up defensive holes as wide as the Howard Franklin. Battalion poured on the offense last week, tallying up 33 points versus Desperadoes and will have their work cut for them since the Meanies are only allowing 11 points a game. Mean Machine needs this game to stay in the hunt for playoff position. Does familiarity breed contempt for these two teams which have faced off against each other numerous times in scrimmages? Does Trevor risk losing his lifetime membership with the Battalion Alumni Association if he leads MM to victory?
So Hood-12Techs
The TBFFA Game of the Week features another trip to the Hood with 2 of the top 3 teams in the league. Will So Hood have enough in the tank against a Techs team that ambushed Enigma and knocked them from the ranks of the unbeaten last week? Maybe they can win on a Tech-nicality.
Enigma-9Nightmare
The big bad Wolfe and friends hopes to get his Men of Mystery back on track against a Nightmare team that lived its own nightmare trying to stop the galloping horde known as Mayhem and failing miserably 36-14. Both teams sit at 2-1 and the winner of this one will keep pace with the league leaders for another week.
Revenge+12 ½ Mayhem
Both of these teams have really good defenses. But only one of them has a good offense to boot. And Mayhem showed off that good offense by Freddy Krueger-ing Nightmare to the tune of 36 points. Revenge was exposed last week by the Knights in surrendering 25 points. This is a bad time to all into a defensive slump. Weather forecasts this week, unlike last, are looking pretty good.except for Revenges end zone where there will be a hurricane warning.
